Hitopadesha is a distinct collection of instructional tales. Its relationship with Panchatantra traditions makes it useful to compare, but the two titles should not be used interchangeably.
A child-friendly version can explore friendship, judgement and consequences through a story and conversation. An adaptation should identify the source and explain any changed dialogue or softened incident.
Our current family previews include Panchatantra-inspired stories. A separate Hitopadesha collection is planned; this orientation does not claim those future storybooks are already complete.
